Updated this week

Goal

This article will show you how to link an existing item in Resvu to a task. Linking items allows you to connect related records and keep a clear view of everything associated with a piece of work.

Before You Get Started

You will need to have the correct permissions set in order to manage tasks. To check this, navigate to:

Settings ➡️ Admins ➡️ Edit your chosen admin ➡️ Select Roles & Permissions ➡️ Scroll down to Access Details ➡️ Expand Task Management and ensure that Task Management has full access selected.

Linking an Item to a Task

Step 1 - Open a Task Navigate to Tasks in the left-hand menu and click on the task you want to link an item to.

Step 2 - Add a Link Inside the task, locate the Add Link section and click Link. This will open a search field where you can find and select any existing item in Resvu.

Step 3 - Search for an Item Start typing in the search field for results to appear. You can link any of the following item types:

  • Communication: Alerts, Notices, Newsletters, Procedures, and Surveys

  • Request: An existing workflow request

  • Quote: An existing quote request

  • Work Order: An existing work order

  • Task: Another existing task

  • Committee Hub Topic: An existing topic from the Committee Hub

Step 4 - Confirm the Link Select the item from the search results and press Add Link.

The linked item will then appear within the task, giving you a connected view of all related records.
