Using global selectors

Updated yesterday

Goal

This article will explain how global selectors work in resvu, including the community selector, resident selector and the audience selector.

Before you get started

Global selectors appear across multiple areas of the admin portal. The available options inside the selectors will depend on your permissions and which communities are assigned to your admin account.

To check your permissions, navigate to:
Settings ➡️ Admins ➡️ Edit your chosen admin ➡️ Roles & Permissions ➡️ Expand Residents ➡️ Ensure full access is selected for both options.

To confirm the community is assigned to your admin account, navigate to:
Settings ➡️ Admins ➡️ Edit your chosen admin ➡️ Set Communities ➡️ Ensure the target community is selected.

Global selectors

Global selectors are used when you need to:

  • Filter

  • Assign access permissions

  • Target information to a specific audience

Community selector

The community selector displays the community name, scheme number, and address.

Selection
You can select one community at a time or select multiple communities at once.

You can also select all communities to include every community available to your admin account.

Searching in the community selector
You can search for a community by:

  • Community name

  • Scheme number

  • Address

❗️If you are looking for a community but cannot see it in the community selector, make sure it has been assigned to your admin account

Resident selector

The resident selector will show a list of all residents for the selected community. Each resident will display:

  • their name

  • lot number

  • unit number

  • user type

If a user has multiple lots or different user types across lots, these will also display.

ℹ️ A community will typically need to be selected first before options will show in the resident selector

Audience selector
