How to create templates for faster communication

Resvu allows you to create and save various communication templates, all to save time and make you more efficient.

This article will guide you through how to create and manage communication templates for notices, newsletters, and procedures in the admin portal.

Before you get started

You will need to have the correct permissions set in order to create communication templates. To check this, navigate to:

Settings ➡️ Admins ➡️ Edit your chosen admin ➡️ Select Roles & Permissions ➡️ Scroll down to Access Detail ➡️ Expand Communicate and ensure that Templates has Full Access selected.

Steps to manage communication templates

Step 1 - Navigate to the Templates section

  • Login to the admin portal, click on Communicate.

  • Then select Templates.

  • You will see three categories of templates:

    • Notices

    • Newsletters

    • Procedures

Step 2 - Create a template

  • Click on the relevant tab (Notices, Newsletters, or Procedures) depending on the type of template you want to create or manage.

  • Click the Template button to start a new template.

Step 3 - Enter the template details

  • Enter a Title for your template.

  • Select the Communities that the template applies to.

  • Add your template content, including any necessary:

    • Text

    • Images

    • Links

    • Other media or formatting

Step 4 - Save your template

  • Once your content is complete, save the template. It will now be available for use in resident communications.

It will then appear under the appropriate tab

Below are the types of templates that can be created in Resvu,

Maintenance & Works Notices

  • Subject: Scheduled Water Shut-off – [Date & Time]
    Dear Residents, please be advised that water will be temporarily shut off on [Date & Time] due to essential plumbing works. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

  • Subject: Lift Maintenance – Building A
    Routine maintenance on Lift 1 will occur on [Date & Time]. Please use Lift 2 during this time.


Cleaning & Waste Reminders

  • Subject: Spring Cleaning – Common Area Deep Clean
    Our cleaning team will be conducting a deep clean of the common areas on [Date & Time]. Please ensure personal items are not left in hallways.

  • Subject: Bulk Waste Collection – Booking Required
    Council bulk waste collection is scheduled for [Date & Time]. If you have large items to dispose of, please contact management to register your items.


Strata Meetings & Decisions

  • Subject: Annual General Meeting Notice – RSVP Required
    The AGM will be held on [Date & Time] in the community room. Please confirm your attendance and submit any motions by [Date & Time].

  • Subject: Committee Election Results
    Thank you for your participation in the recent election. The following residents have been elected to the strata committee: [List of names].


By-Law Reminders & Community Guidelines

  • Subject: Pet Registration Reminder
    A reminder to register your pet with building management if you haven't done so already. This ensures compliance with strata by-laws and safety for all residents.

  • Subject: Noise Complaints – Friendly Reminder
    We’ve received several complaints regarding noise after [Date & Time]. Please be considerate of your neighbours, particularly during night-time hours.


Community Updates & Events

  • Subject: New BBQ Area Now Open
    We’re pleased to announce the BBQ and picnic area is now open for resident use. Bookings can be made through the resident portal.

  • Subject: Community Morning Tea – You’re Invited!
    Join us in the lobby on [Date & Time] for a morning tea and a chance to meet your neighbours.


Urgent or Emergency Notices

  • Subject: Water Leak Identified – Immediate Access Required
    A leak has been detected in unit [Unit Number]. Please contact the building manager urgently if you are the resident of this unit.

  • Subject: Fire Alarm Test – [Date & Time]
    Don’t be alarmed – we’re testing the fire alarm system on [Date & Time]. The alarm will sound briefly during this time.
