Goal
This article will show you how to create a committee hub topic, including optional settings such as attachments, tags, follow-up dates, votes, and related items.
Before you get started
Your admin account must have the correct permissions to access committee hub. To check this, navigate to:
settings ➡️ admins ➡️ edit your chosen admin ➡️ select roles & permissions ➡️ scroll down to committee hub ➡️ ensure that topics has full access selected.

Committee members creating topics
Committee members can create topics through the Resident Portal. They can create both general and voting topics by filling in the fields and clicking Submit.

Accessing topics
Step 1 - Navigate to Committee Hub
Click Committee Hub in the left-hand menu.
Step 2 - Select topics
Click topics from the Committee Hub menu to view all active items.
Creating the topic
Step 1 - Start a new topic
Click the new topic button in the top right.
Step 2 - Enter Topic Details
Fill in the following mandatory fields:
Title
Description
Community: Select the relevant community
Target Audience: Choose between every committee member, specific committee groups, or individual committee members
Optional fields:
Expiry date
Follow-up date
Attachments: Upload or drag and drop one or multiple documents
Tags: Add one or more tags to help organise and filter topics.
Optional settings:
Check this checkbox if you would like the topic to automatically close once the expiry date has been reached.
Adding a vote
Step 1 - add the vote (if applicable)
If the topic requires a vote, click add vote
Step 2 - Configure Voting Options
Complete the following:
Enter at least two voting options (use Add Option to include more)
Set an expiry date
Optional settings:
Allow Committee members to change their response up to the expiry date
Allow Committee members to view others’ responses
Make Committee responses anonymous
Save the topic
Click save. The topic will appear in the open tab.
❓What happened to Approvals?
Approvals, voting topics and discussion topics have been merged following the v26.0.0 update. The new topics module functions to replace these.
