How to create and manage Assets

Goal

This article will show you how to access and manage assets in the asset register on the resvu admin portal.

Before you get started

Your admin account must have the correct permissions to access asset management. To check this, navigate to:

Settings ➡️ Admins ➡️ Edit your chosen admin ➡️ Select Roles & Permissions ➡️ Scroll down to Registers ➡️ Expand Registers and ensure that Assets has full access selected.

Accessing assets

Select Registers, and then select Assets.


You will see a list of all assets in the system.

Use filter options
At the top of the Assets table, you can filter or search by:

  • Community

  • Specific asset ID

  • Tags or category

  • Expiry date

  • Date of installation

You can also switch to the Archive tab to view archived assets.

Creating a new asset

Step 1 – Click ‘New Asset’
Select New Asset from the top-right of the Assets table.

Step 2 – Fill in asset details
Enter the following information:

  • Community – The community the asset belongs to (required)

  • Name – The name of the asset (required)

  • Description – A short explanation of the asset

  • Category or Tag – The appropriate category or tag

  • Location – A location tag where the asset is situated

  • Date of Installation

  • Replacement Cost

  • Useful Life – Expected lifetime of the asset

  • Model Number

  • Serial Number

  • Warranty Expiry

  • Installation Warranty Expiry

  • Asset Owner

You may also add attachments at the bottom of the form.

Step 3 – Save the asset
When you are done, select Save. The asset will appear in the table.

Managing assets

View an asset
Select the asset from the table, make your changes, and click Save.

Archive an asset
Select the three dots on the right of an asset row.

Then, select Archive.

Duplicate an asset
Select the three dots on the right of an asset row.

Then select Duplicate.
